modem driver installation problem


hi
I am running FC4 and my modem is not supported by default.It's a Dlink brand internal modem.If i try to install the rpm driver, it gets me an an error for dependency.So,then i tried with tar.gz format and intalled the drived but when i tried to configure it, it asks me the path of c header files to match the current running kernel.
Can anybody plz say me the path and kind thanks to any reply

The tar package may be looking for the kernel source, please read the RELEASE-NOTES found on the installation media or here;

You may wish to learn how to configure and use yum also;

thanks for the help.
Can u plz say me about the indication like i386, i686. Is it related to processor type

Yes, it is releated to the processor type. The i386 and i686 are in the same family (the x86 32-bit family) with i386 being the earlist version type;

i386 == 80386
i486 == 80486
i596 == 80586
i686 == 80686 (or better)
