Question Modem Ambient HaM MD5628 in linux?

hi 2 all,
i have installed RH9 for some time now but couldn't get the modem to work. hence i haven't been able to surf the net on Linux. My modem is Ambient HaM MD 5628D-L-A [V.90]. I searched on the net a bit and found that it's been bough t by Intel. They had some drivers but i couldn't get it to work either. Can anyone help with this particular problem.

VSR, I have the exact winmodem and have NEVER gotten it to work with anything other than SUSE 9. I tried for months to get it to work with Mandrake with no success.
SUSE 9 provides the modem drivers for all Intel modems, as well as Lucent modems. It works right out of the box. I know that doesn't help you with your distro, but it's the reason that I switched to SUSE 9.
Good luck.

To the best of my knowledge AmbientHam modems aren't currently compatable with linux. I've even had a headache trying to get them to run on windoze so without sounding to pessemistic, I'd go for a diffrerent chipset.
