Model 3090 V.92 USB Mini Modem

I have the above ext modem (Zoom Telephonics) and when I booted for the first time my Suse 9.2 I got a msg that Suse found the modem and if I want to set it up. So I did and it set the device to /dev/ttyACM0... Tryed to connect and I get that the modem is not responding... Why?

Note that Suse found the exact model...

Is there something I should do in addition? I checked the hardware tool and it displays the modem as active but not configured... although I did configure it with Yast when it initialy found it...

Prety please help me if you know...
