Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Mobile phone tools Fedora

Hi,

I am using Fedora core 8 at present and have two motorola phones (V600,L6) and am hoping to be able to get my photos off these onto my computer.

The phone manager with fedora doesn't seem to be recognising my phone and I can't seem to find versions of the actual motorola tools that came on CD for Linux.

Just wondering what a good option would be for me to be able to do this?

Hi Justin,

First lets prepare your phone to connect with your fedora machine, go to settings -> connection -> USB Settings and then change the default connection to Memory card.

This will change your phone to a card reader & you will be able to see all the contents of your phone by just connecting it as you connect a pen drive. This will work as i know. May be the path to USB Settings in your phone is different so please check it properly.

Bye

Okay I tried to do that but neither of my phones seem to offer this feature. It doesn't really seem to solve the problem.
