MMC-reader problem

I just bought a Dane Elec, Z-mate MMC-reader for USB. I have all the components acquired for usb storage compiled into my kernel, and I have no problems mounting and reading usb-keys. However, when i plug this reader into my USB-port it writes:

Code:
usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using address 2
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
Vendor: Generic Model: STORAGE DEVICE Rev: 0100
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
SCSI device sda: 62720 512-byte hdwr sectors (32 MB)
sda: assuming Write Enabled
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
 sda:
That is all. Isn't this incomplete?
Besides, when i try to mount it with the: "/dev/sda1 /mnt/usbkey vfat user,noauto,umask=0 0 0"-line in my fstab, it just halts. I am running Debian Linux 2.6.8.

I have tried something new. I have inserted the reader without the MMC, and it gives the following message:
Code:
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
Vendor: Generic Model: STORAGE DEVICE Rev: 0100
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Attached scsi generic sg0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 0
USB Mass Storage device found at 2
Then when I insert the MMC it writes:
Code:
SCSI device sda: 62720 512-byte hdwr sectors (32 MB)
sda: assuming Write Enabled
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
sda:<6>usb 1-3: reset high speed USB device using address 2
usb 1-3: reset high speed USB device using address 2
usb 1-3: reset high speed USB device using address 2
The reset message comes when i pull the MMC out and insert it again.

And when I mount with the same line as before, it again halts. The same for fdisk.

The LED Light on the reader blinks when I insert the reader only. When I insert a MMC, it stays on, but shuts off when i try to mount.

This right here says that it isn't compatible with windows xp . . . so it might be an obscure little mmc-reader. There also doesn't appear to be any support in the kernel . . . may be no way for it to work.

I apparently have version 3. My dealer states that it is compatible with all versions of Windows as well as MacOS and Linux. The dealer might be wrong, of cause.
I really want this thing to work, but if there is no way, could you recommend me a MMC-reader for USB that is guarantied to work with Linux?

I am experiencing a new error-message that might be a help:

Code:
usb 1-3: reset high speed USB device using address 3
SCSI error : <1 0 0 0> return code = 0x6000000
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 48
Buffer I/O error on device sda, logical block 6

I believe I have found the solution, and it is not a problem with the reader. I have discovered that the prior owner of the MMC has put an acces-code on the card that prohibits other units than a 6230 Nokia Cell phone from accessing it. This might explain the odd halting behavior.

Sorry for waisting your time.
