microphone not working on Thinkpad X300 laptop

Hi all,

I have gotten everything working on the X300 from GPS to the webcam, but the one thing I have struggled with for weeks now is trying to get the microphone to work. This would be great for skype.

After doing some googling, it seems as though other people have the same issue. I think it stems from the fact that it is a digital microphone.

Has anyone been able to get it working?

It's a pity that nobody answered this post, coz I have the same problem (microphone not working) in a similar machine (Lenovo Thinkpad T61p) and the same motivation (Skype) ;-)
