Merging two partitons ?????

I originaly had 3 partitions on a single HD.

1> NTFS
2> Linux Logical
3> Linux swap

I decided to remove windows (the NTFS partiton) so now i have this

1> Free space
2> Linux Logical
3> Linux swap

How do i merge the free space with the Linux logic partiton???
I am somewhat familure with cfdisk, and unfamilure with fdisk

I've been using Parted Magic for this type of work.

I think Ubuntu has this feature on their live CD. Hopefully others can tell us what they are using?
Also, it looks like you cross-posted this question, which is considered poor (n)etiquette http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netiquette

Depending on how your disk is structured you may need to first move a partition to grow the other. Another option might be simply to format it and create symbolic link to this space.

GParted is a good tool--it comes with many LiveCD distros--and is available on a standalone bootable CD.

You cannot "merge" partitions....you can move, resize, delete, and create new. The most straightforward thing in you case is to simply re-size the Linux partition. Depending on the size of your disk, consider leaving some free space for future changes.

Be sure to back up any critical data before changing partitions.
