Tiger Direct has quite a deal for a bare bones kit that $50 after all the rebates. It features a Mercury 740CFDMx motherboard which is apparently made by Kobian.

Has anyone managed (or failed) a Linux installation on this?

It uses a SiS chipset, so it might not be so bad.
