Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

It seems like a common hardware problem experienced.
I have a HP Proliant ML330 G3 server box and would like to load Linux Fedora Core 2 on it.
The last Linux RedHat version supported by HP for this box is RedHat 8.0
On the LSI Logic website support goes up to RedHat 9.0.
Needless to say that none of these drivers do work with Fedora Core 2.
On Linuxquestions I did find a couple of threads relating to problems experienced, but none with a solution. Or maybe I don't understand it correctly.
What I need to know is the following:
The easy way: has any person complied a megaide.o for the CSB6 IDE RAID or MegaRAID ATA 133-2 or MegaRAID IDE 100 on the Linux 2.6.5-1.358 Fedora Core 2 kernel?
The difficult way: I got some Driver Compilation Instructions and sources files "megaide-v5.08" from the supplier of this product. I have tried to compile the drivers but halfway through the document I get stuck. The document is for SCSI drivers and not IDE drivers.
The supplier has advised that this is where their support stop.
I need help desperately on the correct procedure to compile this driver correctly. But please I need detail descriptions. Don't see myself as a Linux boffin.
