MDK 10: NForce1 audio: getting rear speakers to work
Finally got around to making the switch to linux, finally got most of it working, in strange ways sometimes (i.e. it detects my d-link dwl-120 wireless card as nforce AGP controller - yet it works?!), anyway here are my problems:
audio works on front speakers only but i can't get the rear speakers to output any sound (worked fine under windows). i installed the latest nforce drivers from the nvidia site which made little difference except stopping xmms working. i'm using the i810 driver. the snd-intel8x0 works too. nvmixer only loads with the i810 where as alsamixer only works with the snd=intel8x0. the volume controls work on nvmixer but when i try to change the speakers nothign happens and if i try to touch the volumes on the speakers tab it says "volume set failed".
so my questions: how do i get the rear speakers to work? why is xmms not working since i installed the nforce drivers?
on another topic: how do i get the scroll wheel on my mouse to scroll through the page on Firefox, it just operates as a back/forward controller at the moment for some reason.
