MAudio 2496

My client is using maudio 2496 PCI Sound Card. And running Pinguy Linux. I have disabled AZILIA Sound from onboard thru BIOS. And the question is sound is not played via this MAudio PCI Sound Card.
Even I have selected ICE 1712 PCI IO controller in sound settings.

Can anybody help in this regard so that I can help my client turn to Linux.

thanks
Rajesh Sali.

I can't seem to find which package it's in but when I had one of those I used envy24control to set it up -- it could be muted by default or be set to output to digital not analogue (or vice-versa).
If you can't find envy24control you could try the plain old alsamixer and check the settings there. If you've got pulse Audio installed you'll want to install the pulse audio tools to and use the volume control.
The card definitely works under Linux as I've had one working to output both analogue and digital and a friend uses one for recording and mixing.
Edit: envy24control is in alsa-tools-gui if you're using a Debian-based distro.

Something further occurred. The settings in envy24control are a little weird and to get stereo you have to do something like turn up the left slider for channel 0 and the right slider for channel 1. I don't recall the other settings though but a little playing and you should find them.

I don't know Pinguy Linux but if it uses pulseaudio, you'd have to create udev rules. For more info:
