mandrake 9.1 CD-RW/DVD
 

I am not able to have both CD-RW and DVD drives hooked up at the same time. If they are both installed during setup, it freezes. If I install them after setup, then either drive will not work (will not even open). Both drives work fine when they are installed by themselfs, but will not work together...... Could someone please tell me why and how to fix it if possible....

Check the jumpers on the back of each drive. They cannot both be set to master, or both set to slave. Set one as master, the other as slave both on the secondary ide channel. (Assuming your hard drive is set as primary master).
