See, that was under the front cover of the case. The front cover doesn't come off very often. That is an actual photo. I had this exact problem on 2 of my machines. I haven't opened up the others.

How often do you take off the front cover and check the input fan grill?

Lot's of people's systems have input fans. Either in the front or on the side with exhaust fans in the back and possibly the top.

I guess the good thing is that all that dust and cat hair was mostly on the outside of the case, not inside on the components.
