Lucent SoftModem AMR on Fedora Core

hello,
i am trying to get my IBM Thinkpad R31 with a Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR to work, and i can't find anywhere with a definitive guide on how to do it,
i've been trying to get it going for quite some time now, this is one of my last resorts, im fairly new to linux but very excited about it, and really want to get this working.
i've downloaded quite a few drivers for it and have messed around with them (some slmodem drivers) but im not even sure if they are the right ones, i've heard that this modem definately does have drivers that will get it working, but im not sure which ones or how to install them even,
any help that you could give me would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I believe your modem is an AGERE V90 (LT)winmodem. whilst the agere site will no doubt have upgrade drivers for all versions of windows I think u will find they don`t have any available for linux. Which is prob what u have found already.
there are some drivers for winmodems on these sites http://www.modemsite.com/56k/premiumc.asp & of course http://www.linmodems.org/
a lot of winmodems are now supported by linux, but u could always take time out to e-mail AGERE and ask for their support.
The other option of course is an external modem...but hopefully it wouldn`t come to that :-)
