lsusb does not show my palm

I installed Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty on my Dell Inspiron Computer with Nvidia USB controllers. I have tried several different variation on udev rules (including the one that worked on Kubuntu 6.06) and have loaded the visor module.

When I press the hotsync button, the dmesg reads:
[482083.796000] usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 68
[482084.204000] usb 2-2: device not accepting address 68, error -62

When I issue the lsusb command, there is no listing of my palm device. It does show my other USB devices, such as the mouse, keyboard and scanner.

It appears to me that the problem is not with udev, but with libusb. Any ideas on where to start looking?

BTW, I have been having problems with sane and my snapscan scanner either not being recognized, or the driver not being loaded. Seems to be a related problem.

TIA
