LSI MegaRAID U320-1 and RedHat 7.2

Hi guys,

Im having an issue with Redhat 7.2 and the LSI megaraid controller. I boot using "linux dd" and install the driver, redhat then picks up the hdd's & installs the OS normally & everything is hunky doory.

It then asks me to reboot, after I do this I get the redhat splash screen (so i know its reading the disks) but I get the kernel panic error:

kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel

If anybody can shed some light on this id be most appreciative.

Cheers.

What did you format the diskette with prior to making it into a megaraid driver diskette?

What driver are you loading and where did you get it? I ask because I don't see a 7.2 driver on the LSI site. I see RH 8.0 and 9.0 here > http://www.lsilogic.com/products/meg...csi_320_1.html

bugzilla.redhat.com (kernel panics)

Its alright, i replaced the raid card, hdd's. The server is working fine now & boots the drives.

I am using the RedHat 2.1 AS driver which is compatible with 7.2.

thanks for your help.

Please... what did you replace them with so other people can benefit from your "fixes" if they search and find this thread in the future?

I replaced it with the same RAID card & the same hard drives that were 73gb seagates.

I was too busy to actually troubleshoot the issue, I needed the box running.
