LPRng and Mozilla, OpenOffice

I set up my printer in Slack using apsfilter, and KDE apps recognize it just fine, and allow me to edit and configure the printer from within X, print from KOffice, and other KDE-related apps. However, now I cannot print in other common apps, such as Mozilla and OpenOffice. Mozilla just says 'PostScript/default' and OpenOffice says 'Generic Printer'. How do I tell the other apps that I'm using LPRng? They don't seem to know.

Oh, BTW, I use an HP DeskJet 648c USB.

I use cups for my deskjet, but in mozilla I have the command in the printer properties as 'lpr' and for OO I just added the printer with the OO printer admin tool ("spadmin").
