Currently we are working on a processor. There is Linux kernel on it.
The board (you can imagine and assume that it is something like a
mother board) has a miniPCI slot. We slot in a miniPCI card with 4 USB
Then, we plug in a USB printer.
Lastly, we turn on the system...
- We mount usbdevfs and we successfully get /proc/bus/usb
- We make a node for usblp and we get /dev/usb/usblp0
- We install printer module and it is up.
- We run the LPD and it is up.
When we try to print using LPR command, it doesn't print and give us a
message states that /dev/usb/usblp0 permission denied.
Then we try to use "cat sample.txt>/dev/usb/lp0" for printing and it
is even worst by giving us "Kernel Panic".
Of cause the printer is detected and it shows us correctly its brand and model.
Could you shed a light??
