Question Looking for info on setting up a Microsoft MN-730 wireless PCI adapter with Fedora.

Hi all,

Another noobie here seeking help.

I recently installed Fedora Core 2 and I am looking for any help on setting up a Microsoft MN-730 wireless-G PCI adapter. The adapter uses the Broadcom chip set (4301?). I have seen some work on the subject on SourceForge.net but no software or solutions. Orinoco-0? ndiswrapper?

I'm running a PII-400MHZ; triboot- Fedora, Win-98, Win-2000; Base station is Netgear WGT-624.

I appreciate any and all help.

Thanks
E

You can use this: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/ (free software)

or this: http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader (not free!)

As you use fedora, may i recommend this link: http://dag.wieers.com/packages/kerne...e-ndiswrapper/

Thanks for the info proudclod. I got kernel-module-ndiswrapper-0.7-1_2.4.22_1.2188.nptl.rhfc1.dag.i686.rpm. Supposed to be for Fedora Core 1. I hope it works and will let you know.

I have everything to learn about linux (it's mostly Greek to me right now). I mainly need to get the system on the internet so I don't have to reboot when I need Web insight.

Thanks again,
E
