Hi, im looking for a cheap 10/100 NIC which works well in Linux, without having to install any drivers. Any suggestions?

I haven't seen a NIC not working on Linux for a while. You should have a look at http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/index.php

For my part I have been happily using these cards at home:
Intel Corp. 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100]
Macronix, Inc. [MXIC]|MX987x5

And a few others at work.

If you stick with Linksys or DLink, you will have no problems at all (atleast that I'm aware of..).

i have a Realtek RTL8139/810X Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC, which i cant get configured without driver installs (i dont think), which i cant do on linux yet. if i get the internet going on linux, i will spend much more time on linux, and in the process learn a lot more.
