Logitech quick cam connect with Mandriva

Hi,

I connected this yesterday and according to the mandriva control center it is there. However I can not see from aMsn etc.

1) I do not have "/sbin/lspci"
2)
Code:
uname -r
2.6.24.5-desktop586-2mnb
3) I do not have "/sbin/lsusb"

I have googled this but with no joy so far.

lspci does nothing for USB devices. you need to get lsusb. just because you know what the box your webcam came in says you webcam is doesn't mean you know what camera you have. every USB device ever made has an ID like: 05ac:1291 for example is the I'd for the iPod touch that I'm typing this message on. google this number and you should be able to find out how/if you can set up your camera.

You probably need the gspca drivers for that camera. I do not know if they have made it into Mandriva 2008.1; I had to download and compile/install them for my Mandriva 2008.0 installation.

Look here.

edit: the sourceforge link I gave is the one in the README file for the gspca drivers, but the files there all look very old. Try here instead, it is where I downloaded the package from.
