Logitech Optical USB mouse wheel not working in games

For regular browsing of the internet and folders and such the wheel works fine but when I'm playing Quake 3 Arena for Linux or Medal of Honor: Allied Assault for Windows under cedega 4.4.3-1 then my mouse wheel won't work. Logitech does not make any software for Linux so I can't go to them. I am using Kubuntu 5.10 with kernel 2.6.12-9-386.

That's what I thought so I never worried about it until I installed Quake 3 Arena for Linux and it didn't work for that either.
