Lirc problem, irexec won't start

Hello

I managed to compile and install lirc-0.7pre7. But when i run irexec I get the folowing message:

irexec:could not connect tosocket
irexec:Connection refused

Why does this happen? Also, could you point me to a proper lircrc tutorial?

Thank you.

LIRC uses a client/server model. irexec is a client, and to run it you must first start the lirc server, "lircd". After that, irexec will be able to connect.

I think that there is a sample .lircrc file somewhere in the source tree (probably under doc/) and I seem to remember they have something about it on their website too (www.lirc.org)

good luck!
