Unhappy Linux Supported Wireless Card

I've been trying to install my D-link DWL-650 wireless card for a while now and I'm really frustrated. So, I've desided to just buy a new one. It's hard to learn linux when you can't connect to the net. Can someone recommend me a wireless card that is automatically recognised and installed in linux? I'm using Mandrake 10.1 Community as of right now, but I would like one that is recognised by most major distributions. Thanks for any help.

have u tried ndiswrapper, it lets you use your windows driver

ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/

I would download it on windows pc and copy it using floppys (it will fit!)

read the readme of it, it will tell you how to use it

That sounds lovely. I will try that when I get home from work. I have a pen drive that will work for copying the files. I <3 my pen drive. It reminds me of a signiture I saw on here. "My floppy drive is bigger than yours". Sort of off the topic... I've never successfully manually installed a program in linux, so hopefully this is my first.
