Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Linux Rendering Cluster

Hi there, nice forum guys, some very interesting stuff first of all.

I had a search for this topic and unfortunately i could not find what im looking for.

Basically my question is this. I Have 4 600mhz pentiums that i wish to put to work on a rendering farm. I wish to use openmosix to distribute processes to all nodes. However can someone tell me exactly what rendering software can be used to achieve this?

How difficult would it be to deploy this software and would it require much tweaking to distribute processes amoungst all nodes?

If possible i would be keen to know the steps involved for an application that someone has had experiance doing this with.

Many thanks.

This looks like what you would be looking for. However it doesn't appear to be free. They do have a demo, which I signed up for just to see what how it works. I'll post back with what I think of the demo when I get it.

To get the demo I needed to send an email back to the with the size of the cluster and what distro I use. A little too much work for me to just try something out. if it looks like what you would need sign up for the demo and try it out.
