Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Lightbulb Linux Modem Sharing

I'm trying to set up a RH9 box to use as a modem pooling (sharing)device.
(Not to set up clients to connect to one modem connection to the internet).

Essentially, I'm trying to make modems on this Linux box shareable so that Windows clients can use a virtual com port, and dial out to other modem sites. You see, physically they don't have the phone lines in the same area as the modems, so they've been using a Windows product (SpartaCom Modem Pooling for NT) and so far it's failed miserably.

I'm using a Digi PCI-4 multiport serial board, and the modems do come up correctly using "setserial" commands, however I need to find out how to network share them.

Any ideas?
