Linux Installation Halted on Intel Core 2 Duo on intel 946G MotherB

Hello friends

I have Intel Core 2 duo(E4400-1.8GHz) on Intel 946G Motherboard.1GB RAM & enough space to install linux.I tried RHEL-4 on it but it failed.

System initially boots, shows options to install & after hitting "Enter", it displays:

There is already a security framework initialized, register security falied.
:
:
//Here it detects system configuration)
ACPI : PCI Root Bridge (PCI0) (00:00)
PCI : Porting PCI Hardware (bus 00)

After this instruction system halts.
Can anyone help me on this issue?

Thanks,
Sri

did some searching on this forum and found but i didn't get a chance to try this out..see if it works for you.

append this "pci=nommconf" to kernel boot string during installation
