Hello there. I am looking for a big electronic shop for computers that is specialized for linux hardware. For example i want to find some external tv cards and i dont want to spend my time searching in the HCL or trying to use some experimental drivers.
So i find it more convenient if an electronic store could sell hardware that is linux ready. So do u have anything in mind?

People's experience differ but from my own, I would say that going to a "big electronic shop" is the last place you would find what you need. I went to a local computer shop that did repairs and put together systems and they did me a nice "home brew" desktop. These were people who knew something about linux. Everything worked very well indeed and wound up costing me less than I would have made in some PC City or MediaMarkt type place. That's just my due centissimi, FWIW.
Cheers,
jdk
I would concentrate on using the internet or contacts with other linux users to find out what hardware is well suited to linux and what is not. Then you can look for somewhere to buy what you need.
Even if you can find a seller that has expertise in linux, it is in every one's interest that that you have a good idea what hardware should work for your particular linux needs.
Computer hardware is mostly sold in a mass market where reliable information such as you would need is not part of a product the mass market can provide at a profit.

Ok thx for the advice.. but still i want to buy for example some usb tv cards for my linux box. If a linux store was a reality i could search there and compare between products that work on linux. In the other case i have to compare about much more products that most of them dont even support other distros than windows

The obvious answer is to consult the HCL but you don't want to do this. I find the staff at large computer mega-shops pretty clueless in general and hopeless when it comes to linux stuff. There's always goat's entrails
