Linux FC2 and HP Laserjet 5L printing problem

I have Fedora Core 2 and an HP LaserJet 5L connected to the parallel port.

When I run a test page from any of the print tests the page prints perfect.

When I print from any file the print comes out perfect if it is only half a page or less.

When I print one page over half and less then two pages the top half prints fuzzy and the bottom part is perfect.

When I print more than one page the same pattern as above will repeat according to the text on the pages and if the pages are full pages the top 75% of the page gets printed on one page and the bottom 25% printed on another page at the bottom of the page.

This only happens with files that have all or mostly text. If the file is a drawing like a technical drawing like an engineer or designer creates for technical detail production drawings with more line geometry than text the print is perfect.

I also have this printer shared and accessed by two other FC2 computers and the same thing happens when printing from them also.

Does any one have any information that can help me figure out why this is happening?

Thanks

Problem Solved!

I found a document that had the solution to my problem.

In the configuration I switched from the recommended HPIJS to the Ijet4 as stated in the document and the problem vanished. Now I get the clear prints that I got when I used ms windows.
