Linux Drivers for NVIDIA Mobile GPUs


Are there Linux drivers for:

GeForce 8600M GS

GeForce 8600M GT

GeForce 8800M GTS

GeForce 8800M GTX

Have you looked on the NVidia site? All four are listed.

Not if you select GeForce M like you're supposed to. You selected the drivers for the desktop GPUs. The only mobile GPU selectable with a Linux driver is the 8700 GT.

Sorry, for some reason I didn't see the M's in that.

For what it's worth that page doesn't have drivers for the cards you listed for Windows either. You may need to double check your model numbers. However, I don't believe it matters what NVidia card you have. I'm pretty sure they all use the same driver in Linux.

Try http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html and pick the version for your processor type.

OK, here's some links I found. So they're all supported.

So my guess is that their latest Linux driver covers all of the ones I listed.


It's just stupid how NVIDIA doesn't have any of them available on the main driver finder and download page here.
