Best place for info on printing under Linux = LinuxPrinting.org I don't know if they have info on your specific printer but it's worth a shot. Good luck with it -- J.W.

Answer to mrGenixus; Fedora Core 3 is a Linux Operatiing System from Redhat.

Answer to J.W.; it is a Server not a Printer.

that did not remotely answer my question.
does HP provide a driver?
Have you attmped an install?
If it failed, what was the error that you got?

If it failed, and HP does not provide a driver, there is no driver.
In desperation, I might try debian, since it's had some really great support for newer drivers.
If knoppix doesn't work debian won't though.

Also Fedora is not Redhat. Fedora IS based on Redhat, and endorsed by Redhat, but Fedora is Fedora. ALSO, Fedora tends to be broken and should not be used on a server, in production: use debian, use gentoo, use RHEL, but not FC.

I saw some articles at RedHat.com that state there are drivers for this controller and Fedora Core > https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedo...msg02509.html.

The HP forum states something about that too here > http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/f...hreadId=849805

You can either wait like the forum says or join the RH mail list, which is what I would do, to ask them that made Fedora.

Fedora Core can be used as a Server as the many install options of such exist from the FC Add/Remove Applications util in GNOME and from the initial install options.

The question of course is, why should I use Fedora Core linux?

The answer of course is up to you.
The HP driver site for that controller is here > http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...dTypeId=329290

But most of the drivers, files and utilities that you would and should use come from the server support website for your system which is here > http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/...v/servers.html
