Question Linux Battery Monitor

I've been searching around the Internet for a good tutorial on getting the battery monitor to work. I'm using SuSe 8.2. I've heard it has something to do with ACPI but after that, I'm clueless. :Os

Any advice?

Note sure what you mean or looking for. On my RedHat and Slackware there is a battery monitor when using KDE. That's using apm or acpi. You need the deamon running though.
Here's something to look at. http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Battery-Powered/index.html
Could also google for acpi.
