LILO and USB woes

Hi all. I just built a computer for my parents and they wanted to try Linux cause i always tell em M$ sucks. Anyways, everything seems to run fine except for one small problem... when I reboot the machine and lilo starts, it seems to not detect keystrokes on my logitech USB keyboard. I just have to sit here and watch the timer tick away. Any Ideas?

Trying to do this on Mandrake 10.0

Hardware:
Foxconn motherboard, 865A01-PE-6EKRS intel 865 PE chipset
P4 prescott processor, 3.2Ghz 800Mhz FSB, HyperThreading
Nvidia 5700le 256Mb 8X AGP
1 Gig memory
200G Seagate HD

Oh and for what its worth, its USB 2.0. Dunno if that matters.
Also, once linux starts, the keys respond. Its just LILO.

In your BIOS make sure you have USB Keyboard set to BIOS instead of OS. If there is no setting for that or does not work, get a PS/2 to USB converter. The PS/2 is the most reliable and stable input connector in the computer.

To remove the delay completely(or, to keep it somewhat failsaver, make it only a few seconds), you can change the value after
Code:
delay =
in the /etc/lilo.conf file.

This line specifies the delay in seconds.

thatway you don't need the keyboard at all in lilo
