Life after fdisk /mbr
 

Help, i have unistalled RH 7.3 and would like to give the remaining space to win98. Can anyone help me?

Not enough info bro. What do you have installed now, and what do you want to end up with? I'm guessing that what you're trying to say is that you had Win98 installed, added Redhat as a dual boot, decided against using Redhat, uninstalled it, and now you want to allocate the space previously used by Redhat back to Win98.

If the above is accurate, you probably can just drop the Linux paritions via fdisk, then re-create them as Windows partitions. Next time you boot Windows they would appear as new logical drives. Note: be sure to back up any important data first before attempting to modify any of your partitions, just in case. -- J.W.

bingo, that was wat I'm after. i have deleted linux partition but when i go into win98, it says i have 10Gb space instead of the full 20 Gb. How steps do i need to do? I'm kinda new in this. thanks.

Start your computer with a Win 98 boot floppy in the A: drive. When you get to a command prompt, type:

fdisk

This will start the Windows FDISK program, which will be able to partition your 10GB as a windows logical drive once again. Be careful, though, as FDISK is not very user-friendly, and it is easy to do the wrong thing and blow other partitions away if you're not concentrating and reading the options carefully.
