Hy guys, i have heard of this site in a Jimmy Wales encyclopedia (A.K.A. Wikipedia) document about Linux, and i wondered if any of you users can help this little enthusiast liberate of Windows permanently by knowing how to install the Z600 driver on my machine, please help me....
My wife has a Z605 (at least I am pretty sure that is what it was...) which she had me install under Ubuntu.
Unfortunately, it was far from simple. Even when installed, it was not great, as it would
lock up often and require CUPS to be restarted nearly every time she wanted to use the thing.
Have you found any guide currently that you have looked at yet? I am pretty sure this is the guide I used for her machine.
I have a Lexmark Z605 running on my FC 6 box, I used Lexmarks drivers (modified the packaging to get them to actually install), and it works really well!
After googling for Debian systems (such as Ubuntu) + Lexmark Z600, I found this page here,
If not try opening http://127.0.0.1:631 in your web browser (it is the cups web config), and add the "Lexmark Lexmark Z600 Series", the other printers in the admin tab do not work!
If your printer is working disregard the above instructions
