Left and right buttons are same on touchpad

I just go a Compaq cq60-419wm, since it was cheap and my old laptop was dying. It is working great except for both buttons on the touchpad do the same thing. When I use xev and click each button, they both register as button 1. Any ideas how I can get a right and left click, so I can also get a middle click by clicking both. Or get multi-touch set up so I can use that for a click as well.

I am using LinuxMint 7 and have tap click for the left mouse and the button for the right.

Thanks for the help.

I have been playing around with xmodmap to try to configure it so I can use the super+click for a middle click but have had no luck, any suggestions on how to do this. This is what I have in my .xmodmap file: keycode 133+Pointer_Button1 = Pointer_Button3. When I run xmodmap -pk it shows that key 133, the superkey, is assigned to be button 3, but it doesn't do anything.

Thanks for the help.
