Leadtek Tv Tuner WinFast DV2000 under Debian sarge testing kernel 2.6.10-1-686


Could anyone tell me how to get this thing working? This card has also built in fm tuner... Would liek to use that too:P Signal is coming from antenna... not from cable tv or smth... Ang i am located in Europe so TV standard IS PAL-B... PAl for sure... dnt remember that was it PAL-B exactly or no...

MB: Asus P4P800 Deluxe-E

the same situation

If you use a standard 2.6 kernel from sarge you don't need to recompile your kernel or add modules. They're already build in. You just need to:
Install TvTime.
Run "alsamixer"(if you don't have it install it) in terminal. There you have to point on line-in(hope you plugged audio cabble of tv tuner to the line in socket on your sound card) and press m to turn it on and next push up arrow to turn up it's volume.
Use TvTime to find the stations and try experiment a little with video and audio standards. In Poland I use PAL-B for video and PAL-DK for audio. Also turn on "volume amplification" (or something like that) in "input settings"
I don't know how to use FM tner yet but hope it's not very difficult.
