Lazzy Hard Disk

Hi guys!!

I have a problem, my hard disk is to slow. It takes to long to open anything, and when I am copying something I can't do anything.

I have a Pentium 2.8Ghz laptop from Asus with 80Gb of HD.

I think the problem is my Kernel config but I can't find any config for this laptop or something that is close enought.

This how my disk is:

balrog:/home/balrog# hdparm -t /dev/hdc1

/dev/hdc1:
Timing buffered disk reads: 8 MB in 3.47 seconds = 2.31 MB/sec
balrog:/home/balrog#

Can anyone help me, or is there anyone that has (or had) a laptop like this one and that has a kernel config that works?

My laptop is an Asus L5C90 from L5000C series.

Thanks guys!!

Cya

ps: I am a in linux, so please play it as simple as possible
