Laptop screen gone bad.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...ryVACEO/yo.jpg

Good-morning folks,

Well as you could see I now have a white screen half way in my monitor, I tried FN + F4 and didn't work, however If I plug my normal monitor it works, I see the perfect clean screen.

Any ideas?

Try booting a live-CD. If it's bad there, it's a hardware problem.

Unfortunately, that looks like a physical problem with the screen to me. I would try a LiveCD, but in cases I've seen that before it was a hardware issue. Does it look like that during the BIOS?

Ahh yes, the good ol' fashioned way to fix stuff, hit it. (Note however, whenever using this technique the problem is due to come back soon)

reminds me of the old 'smoke' method of troubleshooting..

Electronic device isn't funtioning, keeps blowing small fuse in device.
jump out fuse with heavy gauge piece of wire
power device on..

Wherever the smoke comes from is the defective piece of circuitry...

That is an old electronic tech joke.. it is not recommended as a valid troubleshooting method..

"Hit it" is usually the first step in any Army repair manual.
