I'm having trouble getting internet access on my slackware 10 install on my laptop. It's a dell 700m, and has both a wireless and standard ethernet card. I'm dual booting with windows XP, and it internet works find in windows, but the LEDs on the port on the side of the laptop are an orange sort of colour when I boot into linux.

I've never had trouble with getting a network card to work under slackware other than ifconfig eth0 up, but I get an error message saying unknown interface: No such device when I try that.

any help would be much appreciated.

Unknown interface is weird. Are you running the default kernel 2.4.XX??
do you use the hotplug script also?

The Broadcom B4400 driver (b44) is not included in the 2.4 kernel. That is what is needed for the 700m eth0 adapter.
