LAN doesn't work after the first power on

I have a problem - LAN doesn't work after the first power on, but when I reboot the computer, it works. The same problem occurs with Windows operating system, so I'm sure it's a hardware or BIOS issue. It started just a week ago and I don't know what could be the reason, because I use UPS and there hasn't been any power loss. I have read about similar ASRock bug after power loss and in that case BIOS update resolved the problem, but what about me? What can I do?

Motherboard: Epox EP-8RDA3(I)/8RDAE(I)

Mobo ID: 02/12/2004-nVidia-nForce-6A61BPAIC-00

BIOS: Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG

Network controller: (PCI) nVIDIA MCP2 - LAN Controller (PHY: Realtek RTL8201/L/BL)

Ethernet ADSL modem: SIEMENS SpeedStream 4100

when you say the Ethernet card doesn't work

Does it light up still at the back of the case?

Can you access non Internet objects such as you Modem? (usually ping 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.100.1 or 10.1.1.1 etc)

Disable / Enable the network card in Windows to see if it picks up
same in linux

/etc/init.d/network restart
