Lacie USB drive and Mandriva 2006 Official


This is bugging me now - I can't figure out why I can't see this drive....

plug in the drive and I get these kernel messages...

Feb 11 16:36:11 rocky kernel: usb 5-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
Feb 11 16:36:11 rocky kernel: usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4
Feb 11 16:38:29 rocky kernel: usb 5-2: USB disconnect, address 3
Feb 11 16:38:32 rocky kernel: usb 5-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4


and an lsusb gives.....

Bus 005 Device 004: ID 059f:1010 LaCie, Ltd
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 051d:0002 American Power Conversion Back-UPS Pro 500/1000/1500
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

As you can see it's listed Device 004.

udev does complain......

Feb 11 16:38:32 rocky udev[25371]: run_program: exec of program failed


However it does not give me a device to mount there's no /dev/sd?? all I have there is the sda device which is the HDD.... any help appreciated!

Well turns out I had to modprobe usb-ohci.....
