KVM switch - only mouse OR keyboard works.
 

I'm using a USB KVM switch which has only one outgoing USB port to each computer - I assume that the unit dynamically figures out whether I'm using the keyboard or the mouse, and sends the appropriate signals to the active computer. The problem is (and as far as I recall, linux has always had issues with KVMs), only the mouse or the keyboard works - I can't seem to have both at once. The only way to get the keyboard to work is to physically unplug the mouse from the KVM - if both are plugged in, I will only get responses to mouse movement.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there anything that I can do about it, other than to use two sets of equipment? Thanks!

Get a better KVM ?
this is the unit I am using and it works fine with Windows and Linux..
