kodak easyshare priner dock

I can't get the easyshare printer dock to work with Linux. I have no idea what kernel and dmsg means- I need an idiots guide as to what to click to get the thing to work. Or should I give up and go back to windows?I have no problem with transferring pictures and editing with Gimp

Why you think this printer works with Linux? AFAIK it uses some proprietary printing language which is not known to free software developers. In case I'm wrong - is there a HOWTO you are trying to follow?

I also have a Kodak EasyShare C340 with dock. Don't use the dock. It won't work. Use the small usb cable that came with the camera and plug the camera directly in to your computer. Mine works fine that way, and the pics download automatically. Ditch the dock, and you'll be fine.

I have a similar issue. The family gave my grandma a printer-digital camera bundle and, although the camera works fine, I can't find a proper driver for the little printer. It's a Kodak EasyShare G610 printer. Help would be appreciated.

And yes, I am using linux. Suse 10.2 to be exact.

[edit]
After looking around a bit, it's apparent that Kodak isn't releasing Linux drivers any time soon. I'm wondering if there is a way that someone could use Windows Printer drivers on linux.
