Im a newbie and am really enjoying the challenge of learning the os and its frustrating that something so trivial is slowing me down...

I gave that a try but it didnt help, whhat is happening is from time to time when i type a letter then imediatly after that letter i type another letter the first letter will double, even with the repeat key option turned off. oh well, just a weard issue with this notebook i guess....

My Satellite 2400 did the same thing; I found a fix here from a guy with a similarly challenged Tecra 9000. It works fine now, though I'd recommend setting a value even smaller than the one he recommends if you type at all quickly.
