I'm trying to get g15daemon and libg15 working for my Logitech G510s. What I have so far gives me the main keyboard, keypad, and function keys, but not the extras, and not the 18 Macro keys. Progress is slow.
I had access to the Macro keys with Arch Linux, but that system is no longer available, and the source code (www.russo79.com) is no longer available due to a server crash?
A problem I've had since day one is when g15daemon stops the keyboard is no longer available. When it starts it appears to replace the default driver, but when it stops that driver is not restored.
This happens frequenly during testing. Is it possible to include code in g15daemon.c that will restore the default driver?

Thats the real projects page, I have this keyboard, its not the hard to get working, its doesnt replace any kbd drivers, its just maps the proper codes to the proper event devices.
Once again I am guilty of a less than accurate description. The keyboard is still seen, and the system accepts a character, but then very rapidly repeats that character as though the key were held down. No other keystrokes are seen or used. I do not know if that is because the buffer is flooded or something else. I cannot switch to another VT, and Ctrl-Alt-Del is not recognised. The only recourse is to unplug the keyboard and replug it.
I will check the project site again, but the last time I tried (last month) the multimedia keys were not supported on the G510s.
The question should have been "How do I restore default functionality for the keyboard?"
I've just tried to build g15daemon from souce obtained from the link above. It fails with
