keyboard and mouse problem after resuming on my hp nx7400 laptop

Hi

After resuming my laptop after suspend to ram my laptops keyboard and touchpad don't work, although external mouse and keyboard work good. How can I reinitate them (maybe without recompiling kernel ) from shell? "echo -n reconnect > /sys/bus/serio/devices/serio0/drvctl" doesn't work. I'm using Feisty Herd 3.

I don't know that distros setup and whether you are using a gui setup and which one. But if you are hit ctrl-alt-F1 before putting it to sleep. Now resume the system and most distros use ctrl-alt-F7 to get to the Xserver.
