kernel compiling disabled my printer?


hi..
that's my best guess,
from some time, my printer didn't work..


rmmod: module parport_probe is not loaded
modprobe: Can't locate module parport_probe
rmmod: module parport_probe is not loaded

this error msg was generated while configuring printer with printtool..

any help will be appreciated..

It disabled your printer if, when you did a kernel build, you didn't include parallel port support. -mk

then, can i just compile that module and add it to my system?

i think i have done something like that with my network card which was downloaded from intel..

if i can do the samething with parport,
do i download files from internet?
probably is it under /usr/src/linux.. so that i can use it?
