Kernel and X on Intel Core i5 with Integrated Graphics + Intel H55 Express Chipset
Hello! I'm thinking of buying a corei5-660 on a motherboard with an Intel H55/P55 Express Chipset.
Does anyone know if H55 is fully compatible with the latest stable Kernel (at this moment 18.104.22.168) ? Also, if it's fully 3D compatible with the latest xorg?
I mean video (that comes from the processor, not an external PCI), audio (HD Audio), networking (Intel® 82578DC Gigabit), SATA Controller, USB, etc.
I've tried to google but didn't find much info so I wonder if anyone is using or knows where I can find more info about it...
I have found some similar threads with guys finding problems, but maybe someone who is using this hardware with a less "generic" Linux with a more recent Kernel and X could say if it's still presenting troubles.
Thanks in advance!
What about Intel P55 Express Chipset?
Intel Graphics Media Accellerator HD
I have a Gateway NV79 with i5 430 processor and HM55 chipset with the Intel GMA HD. The problem my system during the install defaulted to the vesa driver. I have not been able to correct the issue.
The problem appears to be with the kernel mode setting (KMS). This is a listing of the modules that are loaded.
lsmod | grep i915
i915 272455 0
drm_kms_helper 23936 1 i915
drm 169089 2 i915,drm_kms_helper
i2c_algo_bit 4781 1 i915
i2c_core 24507 6 videodev,i2c_i801,i915,drm_kms_helper,drm,i2c_algo_bit
video 20741 1 i915
I could sure use the help. I know there is a solution to the problem, but I am not seeing it.
