Kernel 2.6.2 Linux NVIDIA hacked drivers (43.xx) Slackware 9.1 problems

Hi I tried to include as much in the title as possible.
I have Slackware 9.1 with a 2.6.2 kernel so I couldn't install normal NVIDIA drivers.
Now I went for the hacked ones and they installed. But each time I open a game (Postal2 demo or Legends 0.4 perhaps) I get the game yes. But it is chobby, like it has low FPS or something. And I *know* that my GF4Ti4600 can run such stuff with zero problems since I've played both games (although legends was 0.3.6) on 2.4.xx kernels before.

Is there any solution for my problem that any of you know of ?
ASIDE from waiting for NVIDIA to make that 2.6 driver

Yes and if I use those and run glxgears I get 19FPS as opposed to 3700FPS with the buggy drivers. Again you can compare that to my 7000FPS on a normal working kernel...

IMHO the new nvidia drivers are buggy. I just changed (temporarily) to a 2.4.22 kernel to play a bit. And even there the new drivers screwed up.

Hmm,

I've been hearing that people are having problems with the new drivers.
I can't suggest a solution, because the new drivers are working better for me than the old ones. - 2880 fps on the 5xxx drivers, compared with 2450 fps on the 4xxx.

Could indeed be buggy drivers.
